About the artists

Miharu Lane was born in Japan and moved to U.S.A. in 1958. She received her MFA from Marywood University and went on to teach at East Stroudsburg University. She is now Professor Emerita of Art and Design at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. She is included in Who's Who in America and Who's Who of American Art. Miharu paints in the Poconos and in Chincoteague, Virginia.

Beverly Abel has been painting subjects in nature for over 30 years. A nature lover at heart, she takes her inspiration from its spiritual quality, and the timelessness of the moment. Working in oil or watercolor, the artist endeavors to capture her response to her subject, whether it be a feeling of deep peace, joy, or love.

In 2019, a watercolor entitled “Canada Geese” was selected to be shown at the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society’s 40th Anniversary Show at the Lancaster Museum of Art. Last year, a watercolor entitled “Three Sunflowers” won Best in Show at the Pocono Arts Council Annual Members’ Show.

Her work may be seen at the Moran Gallery in Blakeslee, PA. Other work is in the permanent collection of Sanofi Pasteur, Pocono Mountain Public Library, St. Luke’s Monroe Hospital, and the Monroe County Courthouse.
